The countdown for the release of Honda Jazz has begun with much awaited launch of the car to take place shortly. The car is in fact the most awaited car of the year. The engine has been exclusively researched and developed at the Honda R&D centre in Tochigi, Japan to suit Indian road & safety conditions. The revolutionary “Made for India” discovery offers a dual advantage of superior power and low fuel consumption. The new powertrain is a 4 cylinder 1198 cc engine featuring Programmed Fuel Injection delivering class-leading Power of 89 Bhp at 6200 rpm and Torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm while giving an impressive fuel economy of 16.1 km per litre as per ARAI test data. It is expected that Jazz will give mileage of around 13-14 kms per litre in city driving.

The advantage of the i-VTEC engine is that, it regulates the opening of air-fuel intake valves and exhaust valves in accordance with engine speeds. By regulating valve opening to match engine speed, the engine adjusts its characteristics to deliver both superior power and low fuel consumption.

Is a Chrysler Marine 318 block the same as an automotive 318 block?

I ask because I just bought a 66 owens 30' cabin cruiser with twin 318's (obviously). The previous owner said that her port motor had a blown head gasket, and when I fired that motor this weekend I heard a rod knocking HARD! (big surprise) I have paid through the teeth a few times for rebuilds before and have decided I'll just do a swap considering it fired right up and the valves were seating nicely on both banks.

On to the question....
I found a guy with a 318 out of a R.V. that runs very well for a hell of a deal, so I wonder if I can just pull the bad block out of the boat, swap top ends with the R.V. motor (intake, heat risers, exhaust manifolds etc.) and then just drop it back in place?

The 318 out of an RV is the same setup as the boat motor/ except for the head gaskets. It may have the coolant running under the carb for carb heat-not the cross flow exhaust and blocker valve. Otherwise you will need the marine heads and intake manifold. The rotation would be a concern, but your marine cam will slip right into the RV engine as well as the reverse rotation ignition. You will -as noted- need the brass freeze plugs. If none of this shows up, you may have an engine that was replaced with a car engine. The car engine was physically lighter. So wouldn't hold up to salt as long as the RV/truck/marine block. Also it may have had nylon covered timing gears- which should be tossed in favor of double row chain.
