Just what is the major differences between the 1995 impreza LX coupe and the 1996 impreza wrx....other then the engine. I want to install an aftermarket exhaust and can't find anything before 96. so would an exhaust from a 96-98 impreza work/fit properly on my car or do i have to use a universal exhaust .

the LX coupe has the SOHC, the exhaust head (4-head to 2 to muffler) is different than the WRX DOHC engine the head exhaust is somewhat bent under the engine and only way to connect it is to custom.

The WRX muffler of your year has dual tip; however, you can get the nice aftermarket to have the single tip muffler.

The 1995 Engine code for the LX is EJ22E, it is a 2.2 Liter Engine SOHC. But the WRX is different. You may want to ask the aftermarket company if anything will fit the EJ22(?) engine for the exhaust.
