Then, the rest of the water that doesn't freeze will leak out from between the bottom of the door seal, and onto the floor. This has been happening for the past two years, rain or shine, hot or cold. What is causing this? Can it be repaired? The model is a Maytag Performa PSB2151GR.

very simple, you have a clogged defrost drain. since the water cant go down the drain to the pan underneath the unit, it overflows the level of the drain in the floor of the freezer, and there you go.

turn the unit off for 24 hours, blow a fan and defrost the ice. plug it in, you should be good to go
