Owning a muscle car isn't all testosterone filled road trips, like with all other cars they also need maintenance. And in some cases they need more frequent and extensive maintenance work than your regular car.

Always make sure that the level of sulphuric acid in the batteries is always at the recommended level, and always clean the battery terminals to make sure there is a proper connection.

Another vital part of your car you should always look after is the braking system. Muscle cars have massive engines that put out a couple of hundred horsepower that make it capable of going at high speeds, so it's also important that you will be able to stop effectively. Check if the brake pads aren't too worn-out, if the disc brakes don't have any cracks, the brake lines don't leak etc. It would not be a pretty sight if you slam your pristine-looking Ford Mustang into a wall because your brakes didn't hold.

Oil is the lifeblood of all engines - they provide proper lubrication to the thousands of moving parts in there. If neglected, the wear and tear of engine components will be inevitable. So before your piston rings are fried always check your oil level if it's enough, and always replace it after a few thousand miles. Synthetic engine oil is recommended for high performance engines because they can withstand much higher temperatures than regular engine oils.

Small block chevy camshaft break in?

i have a friend that has a used camshaft that im wanting to use in my car it went through the whole 20-25 min break in at 2000-2500 rpm like in any engine build and has only about 500 mile on the cam due to my friend not likeing the cam he swaped it out for a bigger one.. my question would be if i deside to put it in my SBC would i have to go through the breakin all over again even though the cam has been broken in befor.. its a cam kit so it includes the lifters to which the cam was broken in with..

You are correct, it has been broken in already, so no need do it again. If have the order of the lifter that would be great too, but I don't think it'll be that critical because it only has 500 mile of wear on it.
