Canoeing is fun especially if you do it to break free from your usual work and everyday tasks. Yet, it would be much more fun if you use a canoe equipped with a motor mount than go through the difficulty of paddling. Yes, you can now use a canoe without the need for paddles.

Traditionally, you cannot utilize a canoe without the paddles to propel it across the river, lake, ocean or in whatever body of water your canoe is in. The number of paddlers may depend on the type and size of the canoe. The paddlers may sit in such a way that they can face the intended direction of the travel either in sitting or kneeling position. Paddles used for canoeing can be double bladed or single bladed.

It is actually better for first time paddlers to use a paddle, shorter than the normal one. Bringing a spare would of course be so much better. It takes practice to take full and proper control of the paddle so you may need to canoe and paddle from time to time to get used to it.

There are different types of paddle strokes that you must know and master for smooth sailing of your canoe especially if you want to move across harsh and rugged water forms. You can categorize the strokes for easy learning. You can have a combination of strokes or have it modified to effectively control the canoe. Cruising stroke or forward stroke, pry stroke and complimentary strokes are just a few of the basic strokes that you must practice and master.

Nevertheless, you are not required to master paddling if your canoe is equipped with an Ash canoe motor mount. You can even do it yourself as long as you have the right how-to knowledge especially on how a canoe works. Never mind trying to build a motor mount of your own if you are not sure of your knowledge and abilities since it can compromise your safety and that of your passengers. Be sure to face the consequences in case you dare to build your own canoe motor mount.

You can go for a ready-made canoe motor mount like Ash mount or you can build the whole system yourself and buy the components separately. You have lots of choices around in different styles, sizes, designs and types. There are aftermarket and OEM components to suit your personal taste or the purpose you intend for the canoe, may it be for racing, competition, exploration, sailing or simple for recreation.

There are several factors to be considered in choosing a canoe motor mount. Of course, the price would always be considered. Beware of cheaply priced motor mount. Bear in mind that a cheap product is different from an affordable one. Its true, you may be stuffing a lot of savings in your pocket once you purchase a cheap canoe motor mount but think of the effects that it can give you especially when it comes to your safety.

Cheap canoe motor mounts could also mean cheap and poor quality and performance. So you may have to spend later on for further repairs due to frequent damages. Good thing if repair can ease out the problem. If not, you may have to spend for another new motor mount and that could be a lot more expensive than settling for a fairly priced quality canoe motor mount.

Vw’s US Surprises: Gti Cup Spec Racing Series and the New R32

Volkswagen of America has recently announced that it will operate a production-based GTI Cup spec racing series beginning in 2008 to give chance to aspiring young racers who wants dreams of entering the professional motorsports someday. The new series is going to be sanctioned by the Sports Club of America.

According to Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris NIssen, “Volkswagen as an automotive manufacturer is represented around the globe, and we have a strong history in motorsports, including successful spec racing Cup programs in more than 10 countries. The GTI Cup in America will underscore Volkswagen’s competitive spirit and the inspiration we take from racing into the building of our vehicles.”

Although the GTI Cup racer was optimized for track performance and safety, the core or the life of the GTI remains to be the street version’s high-tech, 200 horsepower 2.0T four-cylinder engine that delivers 207 ft-lbs of torque. It is also fitted with an automated manual DSG® transmission, electro-mechanical power rack-and-pinion steering system, and advanced multi-link fully independent sports-tuned rear suspension. In short the production GTI is an extremely capable machine to take on any racing challenge.

Meanwhile the German automaker has also confirmed that its motorsports-inspired 250-horsepower R32 is returning to the US this year but also added that quantity will be limited to only 5,000 units. The new R32 is scheduled to hit dealerships in August.

The R32 was first introduced in the US market in the year 2004 and shortly after its debut a great number of units were sold out. For this year since the R32 is offered in limited number only, Volkswagen will set up a reservation system in which through its R32 micro site on the automaker’s official web site. Interested R32 customers are to complete a “purchase interest” form, generating what Volkswagen describes as an R32 certificate. The first 850 people who would present an R32 certificate plus deposit to a Volkswagen’s dealer will be able to get one of the first R32 vehicles.

The R32 just like other Volkswagen’s masterpieces is built using only the best auto parts and that includes Volkswagen motor mount which is popular for quality and durability. The R32 is powered by a 3.2 liter V6 that produces 250 hp and 236 ft-lbs of torque. It is also outfitted with a standard 4Motion all-wheel-drive. The automaker said it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds.

Other features of the R32 include: twin chrome exhausts, 18 inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, a unique front grille and R32 badging. Its standard features are consist of a rear roof spoiler, deep front spoiler and body-color bumpers, side bump strips, door handles and door mirrors. It also boasts of safety features like electronic stability control and antilock brakes. The interior features include aluminum-look pedals and sports seats, a 10-speaker premium CD stereo system and a trip computer.

Your mod list is pretty good, except for I would ditch Hondata as it's garbage and go for Ectune. Look like all you need is pistons/rods and you're ready for more boost.

Currently I wouldn't push it past 350WHP on a nearly perfect tune as B16 ringlands and rods are going to be the weakest point. Make sure timing isn't too agressive and the meth injection should help you out a little bit with detonation.

Your turbine is really good combo for the motor as is, but if you're shooting for higher HP, the log mani will have to go and the small ass exhaust housing if you're going to push more boost, because more boost = more heat build-up.

The Heartbreaker - Amount of boost means nothing, it's all about how much a turbine can flow resulting in WHP. It's not amount boost that break OEM internals, it's the HP. Compression also doesn't really matter, it's the strength of the internals. I personally have a friend who is running 10:1 compression LS-Vtec making over 620WHP for a couple of years now. You're right with one thing, on a B16 having any detonation will result in immediate failure, they're not forgiving like the LS motors are.
