The traditional preparation of couscous involves many laborious processes and is very time-consuming. However, there are already several brands of instant couscous that only need to be boiled in water or stock before being eaten, not unlike pasta. Being low in fat, it's a healthy alternative to rice. Below are ways on how to cook couscous.
For cooking plain couscous:
1) Mix 1 part of uncooked instant couscous to 1 part of water or chicken stock in a large pot.
2) Boil the mixture until it barely comes to a boil and turn off the heat immediately.
3) Let it sit for 5 minutes and it's ready to serve!
If you want more flavors to your couscous, you'll have to know how to cook couscous with olive oil.
1) Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan under low heat for around 5 minutes.
2) Add 1 cup of couscous and some salt
3) Stir the pan for 3 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
4) Pour 1½ cup of water, cover the pan and turn off the heat.
5) Let it sit for 5 minutes.
It is important to remember that you have to fluff your couscous with a fork after cooking. They are always serving with toppings, such as meat, vegetables or fruits. Some are also added into stews. For those who prefer simple meals, you can add boiled chicken. Below are ways on how to boil chicken.
1) Choose your chicken carefully. If possible, don't buy frozen and wrapped chicken. Those will take hours to thaw. It's better to buy chicken which have already been cleaned and cut.
2) Place the chicken in a large pot and pour cold water until the chicken is submerged.
3) Put it on high heat and cover. Wait until it comes to a boil.
4) Once it starts to boil, immediately lower the heat. Let the chicken sit until it is cooked. That depends on the size of your chicken. Whole chicken takes longer than chicken parts.
5) To know it is done, use a meat thermometer and poke it into the thickest part of the chicken. It should read around 180 degrees.
Once your chicken is boiled, shred the meat from the bones and serve it with the couscous. Boiled chicken is a healthy topping to add to your couscous, since it uses no oil. So, once you know how to cook couscous and how to boil chicken, you'll have no problem cooking a meal that is not only nutritious, but also delicious.

Caution: Do not change the car oil at hot engine as the oil can burn you.
Things Required
- Open end wrench
- Oil catch/recycle container
- Oil filter wrench

- Funnel
- Clean rag
Steps to Change the Car Oil
Draining Old Oil
First step in changing the car oil is draining old oil. The old oil will drain out of the oil pan that is present at the bottom of the car engine. The bottom of the oil pan has the plug like that of bolt. Now place an oil drain underneath the oil pan before removing the plug. After replugging also drop the plug and it will be retained on the top of the recycling container with the help of screen on it. After all the oil has been drained out replace the plug.
Removal of Old Car Oil Filter
Take the oil filter wrench to turn the car oil filter counterclockwise for freeing it. The old oil filter will have the old oil so be careful and do not hurry up as you will end up in mess.
Placing The New Oil Filter
Take some new oil and lubricate the rubber gasket of new car oil filter with this before screwing it to your car. The gasket is at the end of the filter. After this fill 2/3 of its body with new oil if it is to be placed from the bottom of the car in a straight up position. These steps must be followed before installing the new oil filter on car.
Now very carefully screw the oil filter on the car with your hand. Be cautious as it has oil in it. Do not over tight it as it may leak and also never under screw it as it may drop.
Fill Engine with Engine Oil
Now is the time to fill engine with new engine oil. To do this unscrew the oil fill cap and insert the funnel. Read the manual to know how much oil can be poured into the engine. Pour it with 3/4th of that amount. After filling the engine oil check the level of the engine oil. Maintain the required level and recap the fill cap.

How common is it for the bolt in the oil pan to be stripped? Is this normal wear and tear issue or a technique issue? I have
been taking my 2002 Hyundai (115,000 miles) to a dealership for oil changes over the past 6 years and am told stripping is a
normal occurrence with multiple oil changes. I now need a very expensive new oil pan. Help me understand what has happened.
No this is not a normal occurrence. The dealership tightened the plug too tight and stripped it. You could retap the hole and use a bigger drain plug. Or retap the hole and try the same plug. Either way is cheaper than paying the same morons that stripped it to put in a new oil pan, which you dont need.
