So.. are you trying to Go Green with your car, but you basically have no idea how to approach the idea of doing so? Don't worry; since I do that everyday, I thought I'd share some tips:

1. Get rid of the Junk in your Trunk.. literally.

The more work that your car has to do to go up the hill; the more gas it burns. Therefore, the more stuff you have in the back of your car; the more visits you'll pay the gas station & the more money you'll spend.. especially if you have a V6 like me.

2. Take care of your tires.

Make sure that your tires are always properly inflated because that's how you save gas. The tires that are on your Factory Original Mazda 626 Wheels are often overlooked. When your tires are deflated, that means your engine works harder.. which is something that I think you wouldn't like.

3. Be a good driver & drive Speed Limit.

When you speed & brake super hard, you drain about 33% of efficiency. The reason for this is because the vehicle has to beat inertia.. which takes up a lot of energy. If you don't know what that is, let me explain. Inertia is basically the resistance a heavy object has to change in its state of motion.

4. Bio Diesel!

Do you want your car to run on things like Peanut Oil, Vegetable Oil, or the left over grease from making French Fries? I bet you do. The good thing about this kind of diesel is that it can be free or relatively cheap to get.. depending on how you can get your hands on it.

5. Trade in your Car.

If you're really serious about making this world a better place to live, then you must be taking this article real seriously; which is something that I'm doing.. so don't feel like you're the only one. If anything, trade in your car for like a Toyota Prius with the OEM 2008 Toyota Prius Rims.

6. Ride with your friends.

When you carpool to work with your buddies or that person that asked you for a ride & you can't really say no to because he / she is your boss, you save gas & the number of vehicles on the road decreases.. which means you get to work faster!

7. Car sharing.. it's not the same as Carpooling.

Car sharing means that you rent a car from a place like Zipcar & use it for places that you can't really reach using public transportation. The good thing is that you only need this car for when you plan long trips or when you go for a day trip at the beach; other than that, you're free to use public transportation for everything else.

8. Party Bus!

Not really, but if you were to ride a bus instead of driving your car, you take away one car from the street. If 50 people ride the train / bus, that's 50 less cars! Isn't that something that you want to see?

9. Work only FOUR days a week?

It's not that I'm telling you to work four days a week, I'm just suggesting that it may be a better solution to all to the congestion. The only thing is that you work 10 hours a day instead of 8; but you can do that, right?

10. Work from home.

If you think that you can do it & just need like a laptop with a cell phone by your side, then you should do it. It saves you gas, energy, & puts a little more effort into saving this planet.

Splitting, or reinforcement fibers sticking out of your flex disk, is a sign that it has worn out. The centre bearing supports can also wear out, causing a high-pitched sound at cruising speeds.

A sharp, startling sound, like a gun shot
This probably means that your Mercedes is backfiring. An air/fuel mixture generally causes this behavior. A clogged monolithic converter blowing through could also cause it

A heavy bumping sound, softer than a clang. This probably means that your struts and shocks are loose, or have worn out and need replacement.

Does a 2002 Cavalier have a trunk access panel to change the fuel pump?

My fuel Pump just died and the shop is asking $640.00 to replace it since they only use oem factory parts and the pump cost $450.00. I could just buy a Bosch for 275.00 but If I have to drop the tank I'm not even gonna attempt it.

No, the trunk floor pan does not have an access panel. After doing many a fuel tank pump change, one learns where to make the cut in the trunk floor pan. This is called flat rating. A gallon paint can lid makes a nice cover to replace the hole that was cut slightly smaller then the paint lid. Note: this does not apply to all vehicles and the customer should be informed of what you are doing.
