Ever thought of racing around Nordschleife, the legendary Nürburgring Race Track, in your BMW? This race track has been rated by Jackie Stewart (well known among racing enthusiasts) as the "Greatest & most challenging race circuit in the world".

In your BMW, it's possible to clock a sub-10 minute lap on this legendary race track, because these cars love having other cars hear the exhaust roar as they lap them. Cutting edge automobile engineering and innovative design, together with superior handling and best-in class performance, help you, the driver, feel one with your car.

BMW engineers design their cars, knowing full well that if the car does not provide greater comfort, safety, drive quality, and overall exhilaration, then it just isn't a BMW. However, your car must be in optimum condition to take on the track. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts always help. This article will walk you through pointers, to help keep your car in top condition.

In order to preserve the unique qualities that define the BMW, it is extremely important that you pay close attention when replacing parts of your car, or investing in add-ons for your car. OEM BMW parts go a long way in preserving everything that is unique about the BMW.

There is a perception that most carmakers do not manufacture their own OEM parts, they use to build their automobiles. They just outsource manufacturing to other independent companies, and put them in their own boxes. This is not entirely true. Carmakers do leverage the skills of independent companies to design individual parts. This helps carmakers build upon domain skills acquired by independent companies, designing specific automobile parts over a period of time, to improve niche car functionalities. Often manufacturing processes of a particular part, may be outsourced, along with stringent quality guidelines. Most OEM parts are a guarantee of very high quality, and are the perfect substitute for a similar worn out part of your car.

Robert Bosch Company, Sachs-Boge (now part of ZF Trading North America's group of companies), ATE , Daikin, Adler, Nissin, NTP, Zimmerman, Balo, Brembo, Behr, Textar, Jurid, PBR, Pagid, Ansa, Bosal, Bilstein etc are some of the well known OEM equipment manufacturers. A huge advantage investing in OEM spare parts is that some of them come with an extended warranty (usually 12 months or longer), while others come with a lifetime warranty.

So go ahead and invest in OEM BMW parts like Air Filters, Alternators, Belts, Exhaust, Radiator, etc and experience the exhilaration, that is your BMW.

Overview of the RF MEMS Switch Market Globally  - Bharatbook

MEMS Switch and Varicap Market Report ( http://www.bharatbook.com/Market-Research-Reports/MEMS-Switch-and-Varicap-Market.html ) gives Struggles in industrial market offset by increasing interest from the cell phone industry.

 Get a global and in-depth view of the RF MEMS Switch Market: : MEMS switch and Varicap applications, Target price per application and dedicated end market, Focus on RF MEMS switches for cell phone applications, How and when will they be integrated in front end modules?

 REPORT HIGHLIGHTS

 MEMS switches and varicaps products are getting to commercialization today. These products either replace existing switching products or create new features. The industry is just emerging with early sales levels in 2006.

 Successful sales of MEMS switches have been registered for ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and other defense and industrial applications since 2006. Despite a market growth in 2007 the two industrial market leaders, Teravicta and Simpler Network have nevertheless stopped their activity in December 2007. It will be a challenge for the industry to recover from this difficult start. But acquisitions in the field of the cell phone module industry (such as EPCOS acquisition of NXP MEMS varicap activity) raise commercialization expectations in the next 2 years.

 This report highlights who is poised to be the next leading players and which applications will drive the MEMS switch and varicap sales in the 2007-2012 period.

 Six players are currently commercializing or sampling products on the market (RadantMEMS, MEW, Advantest, XCOMwireless, MEMtronics, Wispry) and more than 20 additional products development projects have been listed in the report.

 M&A activity will certainly increase in the next 5 years in order to push forward the commercialization of these technologies like EPCOS did this year.

 The potential market for switches and varicaps is therefore large because MEMS based switches are expected to both: substitute existing products, enable new applications, particularly for mobile phones within the short term

 The main market drivers for the cell phone applications are the following :
 * Weight and size benefit for space and ATE (Automated Test Equipment) applications
 * Increased RF switching performance at constant size and cost, for cell phone and radars applications
 * Ability to create switching matrix being low cost and good RF performances in wired and wireless telecom applications
 MEMS switch and varicaps will generate over US$ 700M sales by 2012. The market will be mainly driven by cell phones applications.

 Price erosion be a major concern from MEMS manufacturers as volume ramps up. Market leaders will have a major advantage in this complex technology development period. This report not only describes the market at the player and application level, but it provide a global view of the RF MEMS switch market allowing to build diversification strategies taking into account technical requirements.

 KEY FEATURES OF THE REPORT
 * 6 fields investigated
 * 13 applications evaluated
 * 150+ companies listed
 * Analysis on the complete value chain (Technology, Foundry, IDM, OEMs)
 * 200+ Pages

Car promises made at lease signing, not held up... can I do anything?

I just leased a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. When I orig. went into the dealership last week I told the salesman I needed a hitch and that was one of my only requirements. I test drove the Aspen and loved it (It is a full size SUV in case those don't know). The one they wanted to sell me didn't have a hitch and in negotiation the dealer called around to get a price that was just below 300 dollars. My husband than asked them to eat that cost and the sale would be done, they agreed. A week later, they installed the hitch/ BUT.. our assumption was that it would've been an OEM (Manuf.) hitch. I picked it up yesterday and in 24 hours where they installed the NON OEM hitch, the bumper is starting to bend and comform to the hitch thanks to the hot exhaust. I am not sure if I have any recource since I didn't have them put OEM in writing, I thought we were all on the same page and took the salesman at his word... SHAME ON ME... any suggestions, opinions or help would be greatly appreciated!

just explain to them the situation, and tell them exactly what you are telling all of us. If they don't agree, my suggestion would be to tell them that they installed a poor hitch and that you want a replacement. Go to the same guy who signed your loan for the car. That is your only chance. Get everything in writing, and I do mean everything. I keep a diary.
