what is the best ipod hifi system which contains quality speakers and FM radio (CD OK but not essential)?

- Sony 3 parts separate system (CD player / tuner, Minidisc player, cassette deck) + speakers

Can I replace all of this with speakers that I can slot an ipod into. It must have radio and excellent quality sound. Most speakers that I have found are either without a radio or have a radio but with the speakers bolted on to each other (as in Apple's hi-fi system) so you lose the stereo effect.

Bonus points if the ipod can be digitally connected to a mini system that includes minidisc, CD, and FM radio.

To solve my issue, I bought a pair of Bose Companion 3 speakers for my computer and, even though only 26 watts, it is more than enough volume and rich sound to easily fill my 26' X 12' living room. I use my nano, shuffle, and DVD Player with my computer and even listen to web broadcasts of FM radio stations.
