Everybody knows that as time goes on, our cars get older and start to loose their "shine" so to speak. As they get older, they require more maintenance, more time for care, more money for older parts etc. Most manufacturers don't carry parts forever, so they discontinue parts for their older models. This leaves the gate wide open for after market companies to monopolize the used car part industry. Sometimes the only place you can find a part is at your local junkyard, either the part is too expensive to buy new or the cost just doesn't justify the need to keep the used car.
For this example we will use a 95 Toyota MR2 as an example, it is a small sports car that Toyota had built in the mid 80's and lasted all the up to 95 here in the states, but didn't stop production until 99 in Japan. The MR2 is a 2 seater, rear-wheel drive, 5-speed manual, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that sits behind the driver. Yes, the MR2 is a mid-engined sports car...much like Ferrari's and other exotic vehicles that cost literally 10 times the price of one MR2. It doesn't need to be said that this vehicle is rather rare since it was discontinued only 5 years after its second generation chassis was introduced, making parts and servicing harder to find.
A better used car than the MR2 is hard to come by, coupled with Toyota's long lasting dependability and durability this vehicle can withstand the test of time very well, if it is taken care of. Which leads to some points I should make about checking your used car age and making sure it is road worthy and safe:
- Check your brakes. Get them inspected, this doesn't mean go get your brake pads and shoes replaced (even though its a big part of it) it means get EVERYTHING inspected, brake lines, calipers, valves, master cylinder etc etc. There are too many parts to list, the braking system of a vehicle is more complicated than people make it out to be, these are wear and tear items and should be checked regularly.
- Check your tires. I could not stress this enough, tires have everything to do with your vehicles braking ability, ride smoothness, traction, and your gas consumption. Yes, if you have your tires inflated to the incorrect settings then you could be wasting more gas than you normally would. Get them checked at least 5 times a year for maximum performance, sometimes you may have gotten a bad tire and not know it until it blows up on the freeway.
- Check your steering. Get inside your MR2 or vehicle and turn your car to the ON position but don't turn the engine on. Feel the steering wheel turn and pay attention...make sure its smooth, if it gets harder to maneuver it your steering rack maybe showing its age. This is also a wear and tear item, lots of parts contribute to your cars steering response like bearings, rack and pinion, electronic computers, tie rods etc. This is VERY important to get check out while you take your used car in for a check up.
- Check your motor. Luckily the MR2 is a used car that comes equipped with a later model ECU, or computer. Some other used cars don't have the luxury of having a plug-n-play type of computer, so to speak. Have regular compression tests done after long trips, or modifications. You don't want to modify an unhealthy motor, always be on top of your car's maintenance.
- Log EVERYTHING. A used car with no records is just that, a used car with no records. Nobody will want to buy a used car with no proof that work was ever done to it, that is if you decide to sell your MR2 (I wouldn't). If your used car goes in for an oil change, log it and keep the receipt, if you replace a switch or a piece of carpet or some glass...LOG IT. A small notebook goes a long way in terms of a used car's worth. If you can prove that your MR2 has had a engine rebuild and paint job done recently, then selling it should be no problem as the new owner will want to know when it was done and who did the work.
I hope this small guide can help those looking to take care of their used car more, in the case of an MR2 it is a little more expensive to maintain than a Ford Escort of the same year simply because of the small after market support for it. The used car market is getting bigger and bigger, more and more people can't afford $4-$500 car payments, so they save to buy a used car for cheap. I don't intend to plug the MR2 here, but if you can find one in the 91 to 95 year range that is priced under $3000, buy it. Just like any other Toyota, this used car holds is value very well...and it looks cool too.

SEO Tool and Techniques
SEOHelpline goal is to help you improve your site's interaction with users and search engines. Even though this guide won't give up any new secrets that increase your page ranks for your site, it will make it easier for search engines to crawl and index your site.
In SEOHelpline section is devoted specifically to search engine marketing, as opposed to search engine optimization and placement. If search engine marketing is what keeps you up at night, these articles should help you find your way and signicantly improve your search engine marketing (SEM) skills. The whole purpose of search engine marketing is to attract new prospects and buying customers. In certain cases however, your sales could become limited, for the simple reason that not everybody is seeking the products or services your company offers. Across the World Wide Web, if there are only 6,000 searches a month for the keywords “industrial pump rebuilding”, it will be hard for you to make more people search for that keyword phrase when Word Tracker tells us there has been only 6,000 searches for those three keywords in any given month or period.
SEO Glossaries:-
Crawler
Crawler-based search engines, such as Google, create their listings automatically. They "crawl" or "spider" the web, then people search through what they have found. If you change your web pages, crawler-based search engines eventually find these changes, and that can affect how you are listed. Page titles, body copy and other elements all play a role. All crawlers will find pages to add to their web page indexes, even if those pages have never been submitted to them. However, some crawlers are better than others. This section of the chart shows which search engines are likely to do a "deep crawl" and gather many pages from your web site, even if these pages were never submitted. In general, the larger a search engine's index is, the more likely it will list many pages per site. See the Search Engine Sizes page for the latest index sizes at the major search engines.
Crawler or Web Spider
A spider web or crawler is a program that inspects the World Wide Web pages in a methodical and automated. One of the most common uses are given is to create a copy of all visited web pages for later processing by a search engine that indexes pages provide a quick search system. The bots often spider web (the most widely used of these).
Web spiders begin visiting a list of URLs; it identifies the hyperlinks on those pages and added to the list of URLs to visit on a recurring basis according to certain set of rules. Normal operation is that it gives the program an initial group of addresses, the spider download these addresses, analyzes the pages and look for links to new pages. Then download these new pages, examines its links, and so on. Among the most common spiders of the web are:
* Create the index of a search engine.
* Analyze the links of a site to find broken links.
* Collect information for a certain type, pricing of products to compile a catalog.
How does any spider start its travels over the Web?
The usual starting points are lists of heavily used servers and very popular pages. The spider will begin with a popular site, indexing the words on its pages and following every link found within the site. In this way, the spidering system quickly begins to travel, spreading out across the most widely used portions of the Web.
Google began as an academic search engine. How quickly spiders can work. They built their initial system to use multiple spiders, usually three at one time. Each spider could keep about 300 connections to Web pages open at a time. At its peak performance, using four spiders, their system could crawl over 100 pages per second, generating around 600 kilobytes of data each second.
Keeping everything running quickly meant building a system to feed necessary information to the spiders. The early Google system had a server dedicated to providing URLs to the spiders. Rather than depending on an Internet service provider for the domain name server (DNS) that translates a server's name into an address, Google had its own DNS, in order to keep delays to a minimum.
Basic SEO Glossary:-
A/B Test –. The practice of creating two documents or sites that are nearly the same for the purpose of determining which design or copy variation produces the better result. Often used in PPC marketing, occasionally used in organic SEO (q.v.).
The testing of ads or landing pages against each other to increase efficiency.
One of the main uses of split testing is on AdWords campaigns. One of the main uses of split testing is on AdWords campaigns. There are a number of variables on an AdWords campaign that can be subjected to split testing and can be compared on the benchmark of a number of statistics. By comparing different fields such as budgets, timings of the campaign, Ad placements etc you can incrementally develop the most efficient and effective pay Per Click (PPC) campaign. .
SEO Authority Websites:-
Authority –A document (page) pointed to by several hubs (experts). An authority page is assumed to have a lot of content relevant to a primary topic
When people talk about hubs and authorities, these are some of the most authoritative sites in the SEO industry. Search Engine Watch - considered the bible of search engine information. SEOHelpline keeps up with all angles of search. He provides an excellent free newsletter (SearchDay) and also hosts Search Engine Strategies.
Search Marketing Info - this is my article and general information website. While not as powerful as the above sites yet, I look to keep improving throughout the next couple years to increase the usability and quality of my content to where the site is equal parts beef and cake.
Black Hat SEO - nobody has made a worst practice SEO guide until I created this evil being. It will probably never garner amazing support, but the site is fun and I have been told it has helped many webmasters.
Bait and Switch:-
Bait and switch is considered as a spam technique when used in SEO. It provides one page for a search engine or directory and a different page for other user agents at the same URL. Sometimes it creates an optimized page and submits to search engines or directory, but replaces with the regular page as soon as the optimized page has been indexed.
Bait-and-switch – 1) Any Web document or site that pretends to be one thing in search results but turns out to be something else when a user clicks through to it. 2) A strategy for building traffic to a Web site. 3) The practice of changing the content, relevance, or connections of a Web document or tool, gimzo (q.v.), or widget after it has become popular.
Blog – A Web site or portion of a Web site devoted to “Web logging” or “Web journaling”. Blogs are typically used to create content and place links for search results management (q.v.).
Also known as a "weblog". An online diary with entries made on a regular if not daily basis. Some blogs are maintained by an anonymous author who uses a nickname or handle instead of his or her real name.
Body Links – Hypertext links placed within the main content of a Web page.
Churn – Noun. The process by which a search engine regularly or occasionally changes listings in its results due to content or algorithmic factors. Churn is normal for most queries.
Conversion – A conversion is any desired action that is taken as a result of visiting a Web page. Conversions are used in many Web marketing metrics. Conversions fall into three categories: Informational Conversions (q.v.), Search Conversions (q.v.), Transformational Conversions (q.v.), and Transactional Conversions (q.v.).
Frogblog – Technically, other people coined the expression for blogs devoted to all things French. But I adopted the term to refer to a network of blogs that a spammer (or really active blogger) hops around, posting brief (often useless drivel) entries for the sake of being active. Frogblogs usually have a lot of Javascript ads in the margins. All six margins.
Gizmo – Now often called “widgets” (by mistake, I think, as “widgets” tend to be more under-the-hood type things), gizmos were useful mini-apps or functions used to spiff up otherwise boring pages. Hit counters are gizmos. Event countdown calendars are gizmos. Any Javascript whizbang plug-in for a page is a gizmo.
Information Retrieval Science – The study or discipline of searching for documents in databases. IR Science provides much of the foundation technology for Web search.
Informational Conversion – An informational conversion occurs when a visitor finds the precise information he is seeking on a Web page.
Link Building – The process of acquiring links for a Web document through creation, request, reciprocation, or lease/purchase, or distribution of copy through automated services.
Links point at one web site from another relevant site. Users who come across a link in one site may click and follow it to another website. A link acts like a recommendation. There are two types of links: reciprocal links and inbound links.
A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own websites to each other's web site. Inbound links are defined as links found elsewhere on the internet that direct users to your site only. Inbound links differ from reciprocal links, which occur when someone links to your site and your site links back to them in turn.
Link Circle – A group of Web sites that link to each in circular fashion, as in A links to B, B links to C, and C links to A.
Link Farm – Any group of Web sites where every member site in the group links to every other member site in the group.
A link farm is a website set up with the sole purpose of increasing the link popularity of other sites by increasing the number of incoming links to those sites. They are typically made up of long lists of unrelated links. Some link farms are created as networks of sites that contain numerous links to one another.
Nearly all search engines remove link farms from their directories when they find them. And many also penalize other sites that link to them. It is not a good idea to link to a link farm if you rely at all on organic search for pageviews
Link Flow –. An expression used by many people to describe PageRank. In SEO Theory, link flow is the link pathway users and search engines may use to get from one page to another
We at Flow Link Systems have been serving our valuable customers worldwide requiring high-quality castings for more than 15 Years. Quality and Customer satisfaction has always been our primary virtues. We deliver high quality castings & valves manufactured on a contractual basis to customers proprietary drawings and specifications
Link Ninja –An SEO specialist whose specific work is to obtain legitimate, editorially-given inbound links from relevant, high traffic sites.
Link Spammer – Noun phrase. An SEO specialist who uses unethical techniques to obtain links from other sites, usually without the knowledge or permission of site owners
Search Engine Optimization –. The practice of designing, modifying, and/or supplementing Web documents to rank well in search engines. Now mostly superseded by link building (q.v.) and/or link baiting (q.v.).
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a technique that employs a combination of factors to help your website achieve higher rankings in major search engines. SEO is an integral part of emerging Search Engine Marketing or Internet Marketing strategies that help promote your website so it may provide you with qualified leads, more business and therefore optimum growth. Being an expert in Search Engine Optimization and other online promotion strategies, Profit by Search offers you world-class services paired with cutting edge technology.
Search Listing –The information provided by a search engine about a specific Web document in response to a query as part of a search result (q.v.). A typical search listing may include a page title, descriptive text (called a “snippet”), page name/URL, cache information, and other supplemental/incidental information.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it simply means that your site shows up in the results when people use Google, Yahoo,Bing , or another Search engine. The higher you rank the results, the better it is for your website
Search Result –. The search listings (q.v.) provided by a search engine in response to a query.
Search Visibility –. The extent to which a Web site can be found in search engine results across all queries. A Web page has limited search visibility, whereas a Web site has full search visibility.
SEO Specialist:-
Search Strategist –. An individual who develops and oversees the process of optimizing one or more Web sites for search. Usually a high-level position on a search team, often an SEO Manager or Director of Search.
SEO Technician –. An individual who performs dedicated search engine optimization services. Aka SEO Specialist.
SEO Theory – 1. The theoretical principles for optimizing search engine results pages from an outside (non-search management) perspective. 2. The principles, methods, and techniques employed by search engine optimization specialists for influencing the rankings of specific Web documents in search engine results. 3. The study of the components and interactions of complex information indexing systems with the people who use those systems to index content and to find content.
Advanced SEO Glossary:-
Barnacle Marketing – The practice of creating parasitical content optimized around a specific brand or trademark. See also: Parasitical SEO.
Cache Frequency-. The rate at which a search engine’s publicly displayed cache image of a Web document is changed. Used by some SEOs to measure the quality and value of Web documents and sites for search engine optimization (q.v.).
Crawl-to-Cache-Time – The amount of time that elapses from when a search engine fetches a page from a Web site until the page’s contents appear in the search engine’s cache report for the page. Abbreviated as CCT.
Index – The database(s) against which queries are resolved. All of the major search engines maintain multiple indexes. Each is a separate, distinct database, either physically (kept in separate files) or virtually (logically segmented portions of a master database). The expression database is probably inappropriate for describing what the search engines maintain. When you see me refer to Main Index, think of that as the “static Web page index”. Other indexes may include Image Indexes, News Indexes, and Blog Indexes. I have some ideas on how these various indexes are built, but I don’t expect to share them on this blog.
Link Trap –Similar to a link bait page, a link trap is usually built by cheaters in reciprocal linking schemes where the outbound links are designed not to pass value
Parasitical SEO –The practice of “riding coat-tails” for one’s own advantage. Parasitical SEO tactics may include: creating competitive content about well-established brands (common in affiliate marketing), injecting content onto an established Web site without the site owner’s knowledge or approval, dropping links into comments and discussions on popular blogs and forums, etc.

What oes it mean when it is said that your car has a miss and it keeps cutting off on you while driving?
I just recently had my engine rebuilt in a 73 olds cutlass supreme and I bought all new parts from the engine to the master brake booster to my carbuertor, etc., everything new. My problem is that my exhaust is blowing white smoke, my car keeps cutting off on my when I drive, people keep telling me I have a miss and the car shakes. I bought a-frame bushings and nothing is wrong with my rocker arms. I got 4 brand new tires with a balance. I need to know before I take it back to the shop that rebuilt it. Should he have put me a heating sheild on there because he didnt. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.
when you first start it put your hand over the end of the exhaust(be careful to wear gloves depending on how your exhaust is configured as it might get hot fast) and if the exhaust pulses seem even then it should be fine but if their erratic it's got a miss which is a situation in which one cylinder isn't firing. the exhaust blowing white smoke could indicate your headgaskets have blown out, how is the coolant levels holding? if they seem to keep dropping your engine builder shouldn't be building engines. Cutting off is something wrong in the ignition or fuel supply, check the fuel pump, check the distributor to see if you have spark on all cylinders if not check the coil, spark plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor, after all that you should be somewhere. The info about your tires and a frame bushings seem to have nothing with the question
You'll damage your car if you use the wrong fluid
Q. I put a small amount of power-steering fluid into the brake-fluid container of my car by mistake. Please let me know whether it would cause any problem with my brake system and what I should do to correct it.
