If you're like many Americans today, your SUV sits in the driveway under cover while you drive around town in your smaller, more gas-conscious vehicle. Fortunately, there is technology available today that can put you back in that SUV and onto the open road. It's called a hydrogen fuel cell, also known as HHO fuel cell. Unfortunately, skeptics are coming out of the woodwork to decry homemade hydrogen fuel cells as just a bunch of HHO scams. Are they right? Let's examine the truth.
To understand why HHO is a legitimate technology, let's talk about the science and technology behind it. The homemade hydrogen fuel cell works by extracting electrical power from your car battery (electrolysis) to separate water into its fundamental components of hydrogen and oxygen and then forming HHO gas. The HHO is fed through the air intake system into the internal combustion engine to mix with gasoline. This unique fuel blend burns fully and cleanly, giving you more miles for the same tank of gas. It also results in a smoother, quieter engine and often times, increased horsepower.
This is not some miracle technology that is over-hyped, as skeptics try to allege. In fact, it's just a modern-day application of an old science known as electrolysis. It's been around for a long time. Electrolysis refers to a process of separating elements that are chemically bonded, by passing electricity through them. As much as critics might like to pretend otherwise, the technology was not invented during the Internet age; it's been around since the 1800s, when Johann Ritter and William Nicholson demonstrated the process by decomposing water into oxygen and hydrogen.
Do you also know that by running your car on alternative fuel source, you can claim significant tax write-off from IRS? This ranges from $2,000 for a regular-sized car to $50,000 for a large commercial truck! How's that for additional savings, just by converting your car to use water as fuel source?
In addition to these obvious benefits, equipping your car with a homemade hydrogen fuel cell simply makes sense. Despite any intermittent relief, gas prices will continue rise in the long-term and the harmful emissions from fossil fuels will continue to damage our environment. In today's market, there are many do-it-yourself conversion guides available and the price is low enough that the average consumer can take advantage of.
There are some scams on the Internet, but mostly these refer to the free hydrogen fuel cell plans that don't work as efficiently because it was written by someone to take advantage of the trend, rather than a real expert. Always remember that you'll have to pay a little money for the best professional plans, written by true experts. Homemade hydrogen fuel cell scams are out there - but there "the real deal" is also available, if you look in the right places and are willing to invest just a small amount to create your own gas saver.
Want To Build Your Own Homemade Hydrogen Fuel Cell But Don't Know Where To Start?
Fret not! Many people in your shoes have successfully built one on their own to run their cars on water. They are already shaving $1000s off their gas bills. If you need step-by-step guidance in installing one, I have reviewed the Top 3 Best-Selling Homemade Hydrogen Fuel Cell Guides for your convenience. Volkswagen Touareg Bluetdi to Debut at the Geneva Motor Show
Volkswagen will present its new Touareg Volkswagen at the Geneva Motor Show which opened this month. The new Touareg is equipped with the BlueTDI engine with SCR catalytic converter. The SCR catalytic converter was designed to reduce the emission of nitrogen oxide or NOx by up to 90 percent. The Touareg Blue TDI revs up 165 kW/225 PS and designed to meet even the most stern exhaust emission standards in the world.
The Touareg BlueTDI satisfies the ‘Tier2 Bin5’ standard which is currently the lowest limits set in various US states like New York, California, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine. If ever released in the US it is expected that the economical turbo-diesel engine like the V6 BlueTDI can help in reducing oil consumption and controlling harmful greenhouse gases.
Volkswagen will be offering the Touareg BlueTDI with SCR catalytic converter in the US in 2008. This is in part of the BlueTec alliance entered into by Europe’s largest automaker in partnership with Audi and DaimlerChrysler. The BlueTec alliance was created at the end of last year. Also scheduled for 2008 is the launching of Volkswagen’s Jetta in US, which is part of the automakers small range of vehicles.
The Jetta will also feature the NOx storage catalytic converter which eliminates up to 90 percent of nitrogen oxides. Aside from its scheduled US debut it will also be launched in Europe together with the Touareg BlueTDI.
Here are some of the other remarkable features of the Touareg BlueTDI Volkswagen:
--- Selective Catalytic Reduction system or SCR designed to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 percent and mated to a 3.0litre V6 TDI 225 PS diesel engine which makes it not only the cleanest diesel engine in the world but also one of the powerful vehicle available.
--- A special engine such as that of the Touareg BlueTDI also calls for similarly outstanding engine components and that goes true even to the VW belt used on the engine. And speaking of VW belts, there are various types of engine belts that VW is offering there is the VW serpentine belt which makes a single continuous belt system that eliminates multiple belt operations.
--- The Touareg SCR meets two of the most stringent emission limits that is currently imposed in US and Europe—the Tier2 Bin5 and Euro-4 respectively.
--- The main function of the SCR is to convert and breakdown nitrogen oxide into nitrogen and water.
--- AdBlue urea solution is used for the conversion of the nitrogen oxide.

How do I change the oil in a 2003 Jetta tdi?
I believe that car takes 5W-30. Go buy about 4 quarts of that. and then ask your auto parts store for the oil filter. Always wanna change that when you are changing oil. That helps keep the oil clean. It's a motors best friend. Then lift the car up on jack stands, get a ratchet and the right size socket (dunno for that type of car - probably around 14mm), loosen the drain plug bolt. Then oil will drip out. Have the pan under there. Let it drain for about ten minutes. Then, use a oil filter wrench (they sell them at a parts store) and remove the oil filter by loosing it. Need the tool. Then, place a new filter on and put the drain plug back on. Lower the car, use a funnel and put in the quarts that the car takes. Probably around 4 quarts. Pour that in, let it sit for about 1 minute, and check the dip stick. It should be right at the FULL level. If not enough, add more. If more than enough, drain a lil' at a time. Then, start car and let it idle for about 2 minutes. Look under the car, if it's not leaking, then it's good to go. But just to be sure, drive it around the block and then come back and stop. Check dipstick again. If still full, you are good to go for atleast 2000 more miles. This is not an easy thing for a first timer. Oil is really important for a car. Have your dad/mom/friend or somebody who knows help you the first time in case you run into problems. It's a good skill to pick up. After the first time, you will know it forever and it will be easier everytime. Just like learning how to ride a bike. I'm 18 years old but I have been doing this since I was 6 on Corvette engines. Currently workin' on my Chevelle right now. Good luck
