Partially redesigned on the exterior and offered with several new trim features for 2010, Infinity's G37 comes in several styles: the G37 Sedan, G37 Coupe, and the G37 Convertible. Further, the new power train pays dividends at the pump as well, thanks to EPA numbers (18 city/26 hwy) that are up one mpg for city and two for highway.

'96 BMW 740iL Fault code: Fuel trim, QL additive?

I have a 1996 BMW 740iL that consistently gets 2 fault codes and lights the check engine light. I read the fault codes with a Peake Research code reader. They are for table 06, 1b and 23. Those are listed as:

Fuel trim, QL additive cyl 1-4
Fuel trim, QL additive cyl 5-8

I have replaced the oil separator valve, the intake and valve cover gaskets, the idle control valve, the mass air flow sensor -- all to no avail.

The engine has a very slightly rough idle in cold weather for about the first 10 minutes. Other than that, the car runs perfectly.

What could be causing these fault codes? Any help is appreciated.
I reset the codes, the check engine light goes out, and comes on with the same fault codes within 1-2 days.

you may have fixed the problems already. but you need to reset the computer and see if the lights pop up again to make sure you have corrected the problem. to do so take the negative battery cable off for about 5 minutes, then re attach it. if the chech engine light comes on then you have work to do. but if not, you have fixed the problem, and try scanning for trouble codes after you have reset the computer. hope this helps, it worked on my 2007 m6
