Volkswagen AG's assembly plant at their headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany has reached its 25 millionth milestone in manufacturing the popular VW Golf hatchback. Volkswagen officials attended the celebration in Wolfsburg assembly plant.

While the 25 millionth VW Golf rolls out of the assembly line Dietmar Korzekwa, Plant Manager of Wolfsburg plant said: "25 million Golf in 33 years - that is an outstanding achievement of which we can all be proud. 15 million Golf had been built in Wolfsburg alone. My thanks go to all employees for their commitment - day in, day out - over many years to ensuring we can withstand ever-tougher global competition. Together, we will continue the Golf success story."

Bernd Osterloh, Chairman of the Group and General Works Councils also said: "25 million Golf is also a symbol of the extraordinary performance of our colleagues. Their high-quality work - as an engineer or a production line worker - has made our Golf a long-lasting success that has brought employment and a future to many regions of the world."

The 25 millionth VW Golf model is a Golf Sportline with Tornado Red paint finish equipped with a 1.4-liter TSI engine delivering 140 PS (138 hp) at 5,600 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) at 1,500 rpm, coupled with a dual clutch gearbox and an optional 4MOTION four-wheel drive (4WD) technology.

Volkswagen, Europe's leading car manufacturer and the world's fourth largest automaker has already sold more than 700,000 units of VW Golf models worldwide last 2006. The VW Golf rolls out in international markets including Germany, UK, France, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and in the United States, where the VW Golf is known as the VW Rabbit hatchback.

The sporty and elegant VW Golf Sport offers a dynamic exterior body styling highlighted by body-colored bumpers, body-colored side door handles, lowered sports suspension, twin exhaust tailpipes, and the distinctive 16-inch Mugello alloy wheels with 205/55 R16 performance tires. Belgard Volkswagen Announces Pricing for New Touran

Belgard Volkswagen has recently announced the pricing for the new Touran MVP and has also begun taking orders for delivery which will begin in late March. The prices will start at €27,625 for the entry level S 1.6 liter 102 BHP and rise to €45,715 for the range-topping Highline 2.0 liter TDI DSG 170 BHP with DSG gearbox. According to Belgard Volkswagen Brand Manager, Geraldine Browne, “Over 85% of Touran buyers will go for a diesel engine, with the best-selling model expected to be the Conceptline 1.9 liter TDI 105 BHP, priced at €30,950.”

Browne further stated that a limited number of Touran models are available for immediate delivery. And as part of the comprehensive revision that Volkswagen is implementing it is expected for its MPV to gain new styling, engine and technology while maintaining the integrity of the successful seven-seater Touran.

The new Touran will also be given a fresh facelift using top-of-the-line auto parts that are paralleled in quality with parts like the Volkswagen GTI parts. Touran was given revised lights likened to those found on the Eos Coupe Cabriolet. A new bumper and grille section will also be added on the vehicle. The lights and bumper on the rear were also modified and updated to further give the Touran with a modern look. The exterior is not the only part enhanced the interior was also given a new trim and materials including a stainless steel finish to the dials and upgraded standard equipment .

The Touran is famous for its safety features and the new model takes it a step further with its standard front, side and head airbags as well as ABS and ESP short for Electronic Stabilization Programme that comes with a counter-steering feature that can shorten the stopping distance by up to 10%.

Another innovative technology added to the new Touran is the ParkAssist which makes use of a series of sensors mounted on the front, rear and side of the Touran to help the driver in obtaining the ideal maneuvering path into a parallel space either to the right or left of the vehicle. How? Through the audible warnings and visual displays in the system gather steering inputs which the driver carried out by simply controlling the throttle and brake inputs. The whole operation takes less than 15 seconds. However, this feature is offered as an additional option only.

The model lineup still includes the Conceptline, Highline and Trendline. All of these models offer a host of items such as 16-inch alloy wheels, CD player, air conditioning, remote control central locking and cruise control. The Trendline has an additional feature like its 8 speaker stereo, front centre armrest, steel finish dash inserts and body-coloured trims as standard. The Highline for its part gains Xenon head lights, 17 inch alloy wheeled, park distance control chrome roof rails, front fog lights and leather steering wheel.

A new engine lineup- two for petrol and two for diesel are also to be offered:

1.6-litre 102 BHP

1.4-litre TSI 140 BHP with optional DSG gearbox

1.9-litre TDI 105 BHP

2.0-litre TDI 140 BHP with optional DSG

2.0-litre TDI 170 BHP with optional DSG
