Have you seen that televised spot where Team Chevy displayed their latest awards? The Racing Director could hardly find a space in his office to display the trophy of current NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart. Indeed, Chevrolet's dominance in the racetrack is fueling the American Revolution to greater heights. In the Nextel Cup Series, in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, in the American Le Mans Series, and in the NHRA Drag Racing Championship, the deafeningly loud cheers of loyal fanatics of the revolution proclaimed Chevy's reign - in the racetracks and in the streets.

Green Comes to Plymouth…tracy Chevrolet-cadillac Introduces “green” Initiatives in 2008

“The perception of General Motors and Chevrolet is of big, gas-guzzling, low mileage trucks, SUVs and larger sedans,” said Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac. “The reality is GM and Chevy are at the forefront of the movement to make vehicles more fuel efficient and, to coin a popular phrase, ‘greener’.”

Part of that green initiative is carrying more fuel-efficient automobiles. Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac presently carries several Chevy models that get more than 30 mpg—Aveo, Cobalt and Malibu—or upper 20 mpg—Impala, Monte Carlo. .

Besides offering automobiles that get better mileage, General Motors and Chevrolet is using what’s called active fuel management technology to improve the efficiency of many of its 2008 vehicles. Without the driver doing a thing, this innovative technology deactivates half of the cylinders of an engine in situations where extra power is not needed—like when you’re cruising down the highway. That translates to a 21-mpg city fuel efficiency rating, the same as a four-cylinder Toyota Camry sedan.

Supercharging my car?

Alright, I have asked so specific questions in the past, with almost no answers, so I will be more general. Would you guys supercharger a N/A 3800 series 2 (Like in pontiac grand prix, buick regal, impala, monte carlo, etc.) I know its been done. I am confident in my skills to do it. So would you guys think it would be nice to have an olds intrigue as a sleeper? with roughly 260hp/280ftlbs (thats beign conservative with the numbers)
Supercharger will fit. ITs a wbody like the regal and GP. So I think it would be funny to mess with hondas in an oldsmobile. Its always the cars that dont try to look fast that you need to worry about
I would reaise my Rocker Arm ratio to 1.85 from 1.6 and I would get ported exhaust manifolds. The 9.4 compression in my engine would be like running a 3.4 in pully on a GTP motor
Oh and Jonathan, Thats the first thing I will do. Want to race this kid with a prelude with a fart can the size of cannon... still sounds like a bee on steroids...

Not a horrible idea, and I'm always a fan of humiliating Honda driver's, but i think you need to think this through a little. A supercharger is nice, but will not work miracles alone. When you pump more air in, you need to be able to pump more out, and you need to be able to run more through, that means larger exhaust, and changing the duration and lift of the valves to meet your needs. More air needs more fuel, can your stock system accommodate?

Not saying it can't be done, but you need to have things that work together. Just think it through, and when you get it done, please make some kid's in their civics cry.
