The Laverda Jota was a machine that to some extent went against the general practice of European bike manufacturers to produce powerful machines that at the same time handled well on the road, particularly twisting roads. The fact is that the Jota, named after a Spanish dance, was top heavy and tall. In fact it was the biking equivalent of the generally brutal Italian sports cars of the period.

It was available in a wide range of colours, but possibly the orange tank and panels with a silver frame are the iconic colour of this machine. The Jota started life as the 3C, a 1000cc, 180 degree four stroke. The engine was a triple offering good mid range punch and torque, producing 90bhp and 140mph.

What is "Race Gas" and do I need it when running a high compression piston?

If i am running a high comp. piston do i need to use race gas? and what exacatly is 'race gas'?
and why is it that high comp. pistons NEED the race gas...?

Race gas is 100 octane + and not legal for road use as it contains lead.The higher the octane the slower the burn rate thus reducing detonation or ping.Anything up to 12-1 compression can run high octane pump gas after that you need octane booster.
