Google AdWords has become synonymous with online advertising. They revolutionized how online advertising is done on the web by allowing advertisers to only target their audience by using keyword and geo-targeting. Now Google is changing AdWords to keep up with the next wave of search advertising.
Google is empowering advertisers choose what mobile devices to display their advertisements on. This is great news for advertisers that want to publicize their new iPhone application to only iPhone users. It will also let advertisers display their advertisements only on desired carriers such as AT&T and Sprint.
This may not sound like a big change, however it is more proof that the mobile market cannot be ignored by advertisers. Furthermore, it shows how Google is making a push to mobile phones. Google's own Android phone now has a 12% market share in the US. This makes it the 3th most popular browser in the US behind iPhone at 60% US market share and RIM (Blackberry) with 13%.
The exclusivity of the mobile phone market almost mimic's TV. Each TV network has their own advertisers, reach and even programming. If you want the NFL package you need to use Direct TV and if you want a one DVR to work in 4 rooms you need AT&T. This exclusivity can be good for advancements in the market, but ultimately bad for smaller companies trying to break into the market. Phones also have a distinct difference to the TV advertising in that AT&T, Sprint etc. get no cut of these ads. So the only one making profit on the phone and advertisements is Google. Is this the start of the mobile phone wars where it becomes just one or two players fighting for a stake in it all?

How Swift is the Suzuki Swift?
Kei jidousha. This is a Japanese term that when translated to English means mini cars. And this kind of vehicles is actually what Suzuki is ever so famous of. These Suzuki mini cars are actually famous also not only for the type of Suzuki accessories that give these vehicles a far more sporty look but also for its engine one that has the capacity to take in 660 cc. And even if these Suzuki vehicles are running with competition like cars from Honda, Nissan, and Daihatsu, Suzuki still prevails in this segment.
The Suzuki Swift is one of the top vehicles in the range of cars from this company. However, since the Suzuki Swift is actually a compact car and not exactly a mini car, the company had quite to go through hurdles so as to be able to bring this vehicle straight right into the limelight. But with the Suzuki Swift bringing in tons of features that makes it a good buy for most customers in the compact car class, in no time, the Suzuki Swift was already zooming its way to the top. Of course, who would not want to purchase a vehicle that held compact car qualities and was even holding a price tag lower than most ones. And an added plus for this one was that it was a sporty vehicle and was very much keeping up to its name Swift.
This vehicle started production back in the year 1985 and up until the present, the Suzuki Swift is still making waves in the auto industry. It has even been able to rise up to the ranks of vehicles like the Ford Festiva, the Mazda Demio, Toyota Vitz, and the Hyundai Atos which the Suzuki Swift very much considers to be its competition in the market.
However, if you are thinking that the Suzuki Swift may be only sold in quite a few number of countries or markets, then you may want to do some further research. You see, this vehicle is actually marketed in various locations using various names. For example, the Suzuki Swift is known as such in Japan. But if you do try to travel to Canada, this one is known as the Pontiac Firefly. It was also came to be known as the Chevrolet Sprint and the Geo Metro in the US and in Canada.

Everyone applauds the Toyota Prius for achieving 45+ MPG. Why is that considered good?
In 1987 I bought a Chevy Sprint which achieved 50+ MPG. And according to KBB.com a 1991 Geo Metro (http://www.kbb.com/KBB/CompareCars/Report.aspx?trid=37&ManufacturerId=48&YearId=2008&VehicleClass=NewCar&CurrentSideBySideSilo=3&CompareCarsSelectionHistory=%24&Path=Compare&VehicleId=197848&SelectionHistory=197848%7c22756%7c32765%7c0%7c0%7c&CompareCarsVehicleIds=197848-10768-224012&ModelId=10087&ParentView=CompareCarsReport) got better than the best we can get today...
Why was there a drop off of MPG over the last decade? Why aren't we getting 70+ now?
I've gotten pretty good answers so far but my original question was "Why is that considered good?"
Shouldn't we expect, almost demand, that our vehicles start achieving better MPG than they are getting now?
For one thing, the EPA fuel mileage estimating system just changed. Under the system which claimed the Geo Metro got great mileage, it also concluded the Prius got 55 mpg. The new system (47 mpg estimate) is much more accurate.
The thing is that the Prius is a mid-sized car. I don't know about the Sprint, but the Geo Metro was a compact car. If they made say a hybrid Yaris or something of comparable size, it would get much better mileage. On top of that, cars have been steadily getting heavier and adding more and more features, so while the technology has advanced to improve fuel efficiency, the increased size and features have caused overall efficiency to decrease.
However, the 2009 Prius is supposed to get 80 mpg in the city, and plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles will improve on that even further within the next couple of years.
