Hold the front of the tape at the point you wish to start the measurement from, and extend it to the point where you want to stop. Read the first large number before your stop point - this will tell you the number of inches. Then, read the smaller lines of various sizes (remembering what the various sizes mean) up until your stop point. This is basically how you would go about using a measuring tape. If you have never used on before, you would probably have been a little confused by these instructions, but once you get the hang of it, it basically becomes a very simple and easy thing to do.
Measuring tape has come a long way since its inception from being used mainly at tailor stores or clothing outlets. Long gone are the days when you would only see these things strapped around the necks of tailors as they scattered about trying to measure and altar the clothes that people sent in. At least one tape measure should be seen in the toolbox of every homeowner or renter. It is an inexpensive and handy device that has many uses when building, maintaining, and repairing a home or auto.
A tape measurer is not the same thing as a measuring wheel. Measuring wheels are a different matter entirely. While Distance Measuring Wheels are tools for measuring long distances in a hurry. They are great for estimating paving jobs, building lot sizes, carpet estimates, grass seed and fertilizer calculations, insurance calculations, fence estimating, utility contracting, and other uses when a large distance measurement is needed quickly. To use these wheels for measuring, simply reset the counter, place the wheel at the point you want to start measuring, and roll in a straight direction to the stopping point, then read the counter.
There are different sizes of Distance Measuring Wheels that you can choose from such as; a small wheel for indoor measuring, a medium wheel for both indoor and outdoor, or a large wheel for outdoor only. Generally speaking, the rougher the terrain, the larger the wheel, and the smoother the terrain, the smaller the wheel. This can be a little confusing for those of you who do not know exactly what a tape measurer might be to begin with in the first place. Here's some descriptions to help you better understand what a measuring tape and what they are used for:
A tape measurer or measuring tape is a flexible type of ruler. If you have never seen a tape measurer, how it would look like is it basically consists of a ribbon of cloth, plastic, fiber glass, or even metal strip with linear-measurement markings. It is one of the most common measuring tool. Its flexibility allows for a measure of great length to be easily carried in pocket or toolkit and permits one to measure around curves and corners. Today it is ubiquitous, even appearing in miniature form as a keychain or novelty item. Surveyor uses this with lengths of over 100 m (300+ ft). Measuring tape or measuring tapes that were intended for use in tailoring or dressmaking were made from flexible cloth or plastic.
Today, tape measures made for sewing are made of fibreglass, which does not tear or stretch as easily. It is designed for carpentry or construction often use a stiff, curved metallic ribbon that can remain stiff and straight when extended, but retracts into a coil for convenient storage. This type of tape measure will have a floating tang on the end to aid measuring. The tang will float a distance equal to its thickness, to provide both in and out measurements that are accurate. A measuring tape of 25 or even 100 feet can wind into a small container. The self-marking of this allows the user an accurate one hand measure and mark without an outside devise.
A measuring tape is a portable measurement device used to quantify the size of an object or the distance between objects. The tape is marked along the tape edge in inches and fractional inches, typically in quarter-, eight-, sixteenth-inch increments. Some tape measures are marked in millimeters, centimeters, and meters on one edge. The most common tape measures are 12 feet, 25 feet, or 100 feet in length. A 12-foot tape measure is handiest for consumers. The 25-foot length is called a builder's tape and is marked in feet and at 16-inch increments to make measuring the standard distance between wall studs easier. The 100-foot tape, usually of reinforced cloth, is useful for determining property boundaries and other exterior measurements.
And that, to put it simply, is what a tape measurer is described as and how as well as what it is used for.

A Square Air Fan
Industrial Pressure Blower Co. now makes a new design of a centrifugal general ventilating fan - Square Fan, in direct drive and belt drive configurations. Arrangement 4 direct drive square fans are ideally suited for a wide range of clean-air applications reuiring a tight footprint. Typical uses include pneumatic conveying, product drying, process cooling, and exhaust on clean-side of dust collection systems.
Some design features of the Industrial Pressure Blower Co. Square Fans include:
- Ten sizes from wheel size 10" to 30"
- Capacities up to 30,000 CFM airflow @ 20" WG pressure
- Choice of backward inclined, airfoil and backward curve wheel
- Four discharge configurations
- Narrow-width design permits higher speed and pressures
The following accessories are avilable:
* Clean-out door - available as a quick opening latch type door that swings open on hinges after cam levers have been turned, or flash bolted type with closely spaced studs to keep door securely sealed with Neoprene foam tape gasketing
* Shaft seals or Teflon shaft hole closures
* Outlet damper - single or multi blade, parallel blade or opposite blade designs, manually operated or complete with mounted electric or pneumatic actoator, for on / off or modulating air flow control
* Inlet screen
* Base rails with rubber-in-shear or spring type vibration isolators
* Inlet volume control with variable inlet vanes - external or nested in the inlet cone, for manual or automatic air flow control
* Housing drain - tank flange furnished in scroll of fans with down blast discharge, half couplings in housing drive side on all other discharges
* Spark resistant and explosion proof construction
* Safety drive guards
* Extended grease tube fitting
* High temperature fan construction with a shaft cooler assembly and high temperature paint
* Flanged inlet and outlet
* Stainless steel construction of SST 316, SST 304 or SST 347 stainless alloy are available for corrosive applications
Industrial Pressure Blower Co. Square Fans incorporate non-overloading BI impeller desings: the motor can be sized for the operating horsepower of the fan and not oversized, thus increasing motor efficiency. Heavy gauge spinning inlet with airflow diverter permits smooth air flow and close wheel tolerances.
Three different wheel designs on SQB Square Fans provide the widest choice in applications suitability, efficiency, sound, and cost. All of them feature the backward inlcinged non overloading horsepower chracteristic, where the horse power curve reaches a peak and then decreases even as air flow increases. This feature allows maximum brake horsepower calculation and motor selection that prevents electrical system overloading even if system pressure changes.
True aerodynamic airfoil blade shape allows stable operation from wide open to closed off; ideal for clean iar applications such as building ventilation with variable air volume system control or clean industrial gas handling. Aerodynamic single surface blade shape of backward curve wheel offers alternative selction points to the Airfoil wheel and also provides stable operation from wide open to closed-off. Flat, single thickness backwardly inlined plades are suited for applications from clean air to those where dust and limited material is present in the airstream and where airfoil shapes are not recommended due to material build up that closes unbalance and vibration.

do i need new wheel bearings?
i have a 93 integra that i just got blox extended wheel studs for. i am also ordering passwordjdm crossed drilled/slotted rotors for the front only as i already have them in the back. do i need to get new wheel bearings as well when i put the studs in (all four wheels) and the rotors in the front? i was looking on ebay and all i could find for the rear was the whole hub assembly but i rele dont want to spend any money i dont have to.
Ok... so you're NOT putting new rotors in the back?
If that is the case, just replace the bearings in the front with the new rotors. Bearings shouldn't be too expensive from your local auto parts store.
Robert Downey Jr. rockets into action in summer blockbuster 'Iron Man 2'
"Iron Man 2" fails to overcome the perils of Hollywood sequels, losing the momentum of the original hit film, but Robert Downey Jr., as pensive, filthy rich Tony Stark, is fun to watch. The summer blockbuster touches down on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
