If you want a tractor mower that is easy to operate and comfortable to ride look into the line of Simplicity Lawn Mowers, Inc. Formed in 1922, the company is under the Briggs & Stratton umbrella and has been long known for quality and craftsmanship. Their mowers are durable and perform well for years, well beyond their warranties. Three models stand out in customer satisfaction:
The Javelin. Ranging between $3200 and $3900, this lawn mower can zip along at a speed of 6 mph in forward and 3 MPH in reverse mode. The design is a single framed system with front springs that makes not only the ride smooth but the mowing even. It offers six different height options by a lever that is easy to control from the driver's seat. In fact, Simplicity has designed the Javelin so that all the controls are within easy reach. The seats are extra padded, as are the foot rests, and the tires measure 18 inches in diameter, yet it has a zero turn radius. It literally can turn on a dime. The gas tank holds up to 3 gallons, enough to handle most yards front and back without refueling. The engine is made by Briggs & Stratton, the parts form Koehler and the transmission is provided by Hydro Gear® EZT. Models range in horsepower from 16 to 40.
The Coronet. Is a bit smaller Simplicity Lawn Mower that provides between 13 and 16 HP and operates on electric power. It has two patented design features - the Ground Hugger™ and Auto Leveller™ - which work together to provide a clean, even cut of 30-34 inches in width. The turning radius is around 12 inches, so it is not as tight as the Javelin's. However, like the Javelin, you can adjust the height f the cut while you operate it through their Dial-A-Cut™ system. Its price range is $2450-2850.
The Regent Simplicity Lawn Mower. This riding mower is the flagship model. Simplicity calls it their most aesthetically pleasing and useful riding mower. Customers seem to agree, placing it as one of the best on the market today. The seat and cab are ergonomically designed to provide both comfort and practicality. People say it is like riding in a car. If you have a yard that is more than an acre, this is worth considering. It sports a rear pivot transmission and a torsion bar suspension. These two things secure the mower to give it better balance and traction, especially on hilly land. The foot controls are easy to reach and keeps your hands on the wheel, so you can turn directions with ease. It averages around $2600 - $3200 and has 18 -24HP motor with the option of a 38", 44" or 46" floating deck. The turning radius is 14 inches. It also has a 3.5 gallon gas tank, cruise control and an automatic transmission.
Other popular models are the Citation, the Legacy, the Axion and the Broadmoor. No matter what your lawn needs are, whether you want to stripe patterns like a pro, or just keep your lawn trimmed and neat, there is a Simplicity Lawn Mower for you.

The Hybrid That Runs on Water as a Fuel
In 2001 I designed a car for a design contest which used an advanced rotary engine and flywheels to store kinetic energy so that it wouldn't need to use the engine all the time. It was my version of a 2002 Duesenberg. It used a rotary engine that was a 2-cycle engine that had what I call gas gates that would track along the rotors which would have either three or five indentations.
The three indentation rotary engines would have two plasma igniters per rotor that would burn fuel at a much higher temperature which means the engine could use water as a fuel since the hydrogen and oxygen would be broken down to become the fuel and oxidizer. The flywheel units could run the starter motor that would turn the rotors like the armature of a motor and the generator that would generate electricity for the plasma igniters, the systems in the car, and respin the flywheels.
The three indentation rotary engine would have four rotors and eight plasma igniters that would fire three times each per revolution. When compared to a 4-cycle engine, the rotary engine woud be like a 48-cylinder engine. There would be a five indentation rotary engine that would have four plasma igniters per rotor with each firing five times per revolution. With four rotors, the engine would be like a 160-cylinder engine. B-29 bombers only had 144 cyinders in their four engines combined and each engine was rated at 3000 horses.
The only lateral motion would be the gas gates that would prevent gas from going beyond the exhaust ports. Twin superchargers would provide air for the air injection and plasma injection systems and suck the exhaust out of the exhaust ports. The rotors would spin like the armature of a motor and have the starter motor in front and a powerful generator at the rear. If the engines are as powerful as I think they might be, the stacked flywheels would be able to store over a megawatt of energy and the twin drive motors at the rear could be rated at between 500 and 1000 horses each.
The engine could run continually to power the generator. it would be rather thirsty. That is why plasma igniters and water for fuel would be used. There would be two 25 gallon tanks that would be insulated and have heating elements to keep the water from freezing in the winter. If the engine had a fuel economy of ten miles per gallon and a horsepower rating of between 1000 and 4000 horses, depending on the type of engine, most of the energy would have to be used to respin the flywheels.
The range with just the engine and generator might be 500 miles. The range with flywheels would be around 700 miles. The combined range would be 1200 miles. The flywheels would be used mainly in city driving since the motor would consume too much fuel. But since the fuel would be water, the price would be very low. You could stick your garden hose into the tanks and fill them up for less than the price of one gallon of gasoline.
The car I designed would be a racer. With twin 1000-horse motors for the five indentation rotary engine, I expect a top speed in excess of 300 mph. At LeMans the range might be over 300 miles at racing speeds. But it would only need to be refueled eight to ten times during the race and could exceed 3000 miles in 24 hours. Afterwards, the car would be run on the Autobaun in Germany where it would surpass Mercedes highway speed record of 273 mph.
My Duesenberg 3-I and 5-I, referring to the three indentation and five indentation rotor rotary engines, would be the most powerful and fastest hybrid cars in the world. The 3-I might have twin 500-horse motors and have a top speed of 250 mph while the 5-I might have twin 1000-horse motors and have a top speed of over 300 mph.
One thing that people will notice besides the high speeds will be the sound of the cars. The twin superchargers will make the engine sound like a turbine engine. The smoothness of the engine will also make people think it is a turbine engine. The multi-clutch transmission will shift itself faster than a person could shift gears. And with the electromagnetic brakes, suspension, and steering, the ride will be incredibly smooth.
Whether you're driving down Park Avenue at 30 mph or a parkway at 230, the Duesenberg 3-I and 5-I will be hybrid cars that will look fast and be fast and cost much less to operate than conventional cars thanks to plasma igniters that will allow the engines to burn water as fuel.
About the Author
I have been designing cars for fun for over 40 years and would love to someday drive cars that I have designed. Maybe my Duesenberg 3-I and 5-I might be cars I can get the chance to drive.
Who will benefit from a nano car????
Using the parts inside a single molecule, scientists have constructed the world's smallest car. The nanocar consists of a chassis and axles made of well-defined organic groups with pivoting suspension and freely rotating axles. The wheels are buckyballs, spheres of pure carbon containing 60 atoms apiece. The four buckyball wheels that were used in the original version of the nanocar drained energy from the motor and were replaced with spherical molecules of carbon, hydrogen and boron called p-carborane. The entire car measures just 3-4 nanometers across, making it slightly wider than a strand of DNA. A human hair, by comparison, is about 80,000 nanometers in diameter.
Small clowns-jk
A few areas will benefit
Physics will see some information on how physics works at such a small scale
Medicine(in the future)- These nano cars could be the model that future nano-bots can be based off of to repair cells at a atomic level, or alter other things in the body like protein production. kind of like a built in gene therapy. Or deliver drugs when needed
electronics- I am going out on a limb here but I could say self repairing computers
