Where is the warm engine knock coming from in my 93 Chevy S10 4.3?

My 4.3 chevy S10 93 155,000 miles on top end (new bottom end 75000 ago) knocks...only when warm is it noticeable and over 2000 rpm gets noisy. Idles perfectly and runs very well it seems when cold. Can hear the sound right when it starts up as well but only for a split second at the end. does not sound like rod knock but I don't know if exhaust valves or leaks, lifters cam wear etc. or motor mounts or something could cause this?? I have nver had a knock like this. Will post video on youtube with link very shortly for actual sound reference. Thank you very much for any help you could give!

Sounds like a noisy lifter. I would agree with the oil change also you should not really need any thicker oil than 10/40. I would not use STP get a bottle of Rislone oil treatment. this should help to clean out the sludge in the oil. just keep the oil changed regularly and do not use a cheap filter. Use only good Wix oil filters the rest are mostly all junk.

It is most likely not a motor mount they tend to bang around not knock or tap.

After a oil change how long does it take for the oil to go black.
You could have a sludge problem in the motor.

It could also be a bad timing chain or a fly wheel torque converter etc.
You will need to figure out where the noise is coming from. a small chunk of wood can actually make a stethoscope. with the engine running place one end of the board on the engine and your ear on the other. move the board around until you find the source of the noise.
