Toyota Recall

On November 2, 2009 Toyota issued a voluntary safety recall to address problems with floor mats in certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The recall was due to a problem identified by Toyota as entrapped safety mats, which the company said was responsible for the sudden, uncontrollable acceleration of some Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The company stated that the accelerator pedal in some vehicle models were becoming entrapped by the vehicle's floor mats. Because of this Toyota issued a recall for certain year models of vehicles including the Prius, Matrix, Vibe, Camry, Avalon, Highlander, Corolla, Venza and others.

Since this voluntary recall campaign began, it has come to light that the problem with some Toyota and Lexus vehicles may not be linked to floor mat entrapment. While a direct cause for the sudden acceleration of these vehicles has not yet been fully determined, there is no doubt that a serious problem exists with these vehicles. While Toyota is taking measures to correct these problems, this may not absolve them of liability for injuries suffered by Toyota and Lexus drivers due to rapid acceleration. Victims of auto accidents caused by rapid, uncontrollable acceleration should seek the services of an attorney.

Because the auto accident may have been caused by an inherent defect in the Toyota or Lexus vehicle's design, the accident victim may be entitled to monetary compensation for their injuries and lost wages. If evidence exists that Toyota manufactured and subsequently sold vehicles with a defective design, they could be held accountable for negligence in a court of law. The company could be required to pay compensatory damages if evidence exists that their defective product was the proximate cause of the injuries sustained by the auto accident victim.

They make reliable good OLD cars.
FJ Cruiser is getting discontinued(Last year)
Sequoia might get discontinued when Toyota Tundra gets redesign in 2014.
