Regular gas in premium car?
I recently bought a 2002 acura MDX and I have already filled the gas tank TWICE with regular gas... AFTER I filled it the second time, I noticed that it says in the manual to use premium gas...I'm kind of worried here.... I will use premium in the future but is my two tanks of regular gas going to hurt the engine?..... It says it could cause engine damage...
It won't hurt anything, but the car is most likely programmed to reduce power on regular fuel. i know if I filled my LS1 TA up with regular (calls for 91) it would knock like crazy for the first 20-30 miles until the ECU picked up on it and adjusted timing to settle everything down.
