"What are Mag Wheels? Are they expensive? Can they make my car look nicer? Are they better than my regular OEM Alloy Rims?" Don't you fret young man / lady, we're going to answer all of your questions; okay?
But first, let us cover some history:
They were first seen on some muscle cars around the 1960s. Since people wanted to be different and stand out from the crowd, they decided to go with Aftermarket pieces. These people leaned towards Magnesium Wheels since they were so shiny and oh so pretty looking; so it's been like that ever since. And that covers all the history.
"What are Mag Wheels?"
Well first of all, Mag stands for Magnesium; someone just got lazy and started calling them that, which is wrong. They're actually made out of a Magnesium Alloy material. They're made by a real specific forging process that comes from different Aluminum's such as ZK60, AZ31, AZ91, et cetera, et cetera. Of course you've probably never heard of this, because it comes from like Russia or something, but it's okay; I didn't know either.
"Are they expensive?"
YES! They're usually featured as Porsche Carrera GT Wheels, racing wheels, and pretty much everything that's expensive. But in my opinion, they're totally worth it you're the type of person who likes to show off what you've worked so hard for.
"Can they make my car look nicer?"
There is no doubt that Factory Original Aluminum Wheels alone can make your car reach celebrity status, but if you purchase Magnesium Wheels, you'd pretty much be on fire. Although this may be fine and dandy when you first come up with the idea of purchasing them, you should know that they are not really meant for your average car. They are, for the most part, used on racing cars because they tend to be lighter which means that they are easy on the brakes, the suspension, and essentially everything related to that part of the car.
"Are they better than regular my OEM Alloy Rims?"
Technically.. yes. They offer better handling on the vehicle, it accelerates faster since the wheels are so light, the brakes respond faster, and everything that you can possibly imagine. But as we learned before, they are specifically meant for racing vehicles; not your typical Honda Accord.
Of course these wheels have some disadvantages:
They are actually very flammable. Magnesium contains an extremely burnable metal. Since they can cause such dangerous situations, they have actually been outlawed in the UK Motorsport scene. They usually catch fire in racing competitions when something punctures the tire and it's been scraping the road for longer than it should be. It shouldn't even be scraping the road in the first place if they know that these wheels are so dangerous, you know? Although this may be the common case, there are some wheels that have a low corrosion resistance; but it's very rare to find these.
Since these wheels are so popular, it causes for many people to make imitations of these wheels and sell them for more than they're actually worth. Some people in fact just chrome Factory Original Steel Rims-since they look exceptionally similar to magnesium wheels-and sell them for the same price as OEM Magnesium Rims, which obviously sucks. So are you still thinking about purchasing these overpriced wheels that are mainly meant for racing cars? I didn't think so; but you learn something new everyday, right?

Honda Accord Sport Gt, Se to be Launched in September
To uplift Honda in the struggle for high sales in the competitive D-sector saloon market, two new versions of the Accord will be launched in September.
In 2007, sales of the Accord are on the increase. Its hasten sales is already 68 per cent higher and the car continues to win industry awards for its improvements, handling and practicality. Nonetheless, the feedback of the customers has intimidated the maker of Honda cold air intake to unveil two new grades of the model in the UK.
Head of Sales for Honda (UK) Bernard Bradley said that the Accord always places almost in the top spot of owner surveys. He concluded that its drivers love the car. He further explained that their dealers told them that new buyers, especially those from the corporate sector, want a version that blends the modern technology offered by high-end models, with more of the sporting countenances from other Accords in the range. As a result, the result is the new Sport GT will be launched.
The new Sport GT
An Accord that delivers sharp, nimble handling with performance car styling and high-grade equipment, the new Sport GT 2.2 i-CTDi has the following standard features:
Dark Chrome door handles and front grille
17-inch (Saloon) or 16-inch (Tourer) alloy wheels in Dark Graphite finish
Premium White Pearl paint option – exclusive to this model
Sports suspension
Rear boot spoiler, smoked headlights, and fog lights
Carbon-effect inlay fitted within the dashboard and centre console
Red illuminated dials
Voice-activated Satellite Navigation system
Premium Audio system that includes a 6CD changer
Cruise control
Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone
Tourer fitted with rear section privacy glass
Starting September 1, the New Sport GT will be priced at £20,767 (OTR).
The Honda SE (UK)
The new Accord SE features a diesel engine and is powered by Honda’s much-lauded 2.2-litre i-CTDi engine. Aiming at acting as a ‘Price Fighter’, the new SE has been developed as an entry-level diesel Accord.
Bernard Bradley said that the car is a new keenly-priced one that pursues the theme of Accord, which has always been to deliver a high-spec saloon with the quality the customer expect from a Honda – but at an enormously competitive price, with low running costs. He added that in terms of money value, the Accord SE beats most cars in the sector, even the new arrivals.
It may be priced at a highly competitive £18,600 (OTR) but it assures remarkably well-equipped features such as the 16-inch alloys, stability assist, 6-speed gearbox, and Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone that are all fitted as standard.
In addition to that, the new Honda SE offers a cleaner, low-consumption 2.2-litre i-CTDi engine on board and the low list price.
Honda fanatics just need to wait for September to come in order to purchase either of these amazing cars.

My 1990 accord has a oem engine. Is it possible to replace it with a v-tec engine?
absolutly. Almost all honda fwd engines can be swapped with each other fairly easy. If you dont know how to do it you could ask someone that knows about cars to help you. I recommend helping and learning as much as possible, because after all it will be your car, and you should know your car. With the V-Tech you will need new wiring and a new cpu or a re-map of your cpu to let the car know what is going on, and let the V-Tech work right. You can also get a V-Tech timer from ebay to adjust where the V-Tech kicks in.

Minivans are great for family duty, but their appliance-like ubiquity has come to be detested by certain types of parents. Of course, most of these people who reject simply reject minivans, and probably mutter something about how they wouldn't be caught dead in one, probably don't know that most minivans actually drive better than SUVs—even...
